Todi
A large widespread museum
"In broad daylight, Todi appeared to me as a nice town, enchantingly located, characterized by that distinctly medieval character that today only few cities can boast. Surrounded by ancient walls, partly still of Etruscan construction, this city covers the hill on which it lies so that its squares are located at a surprising level, despite the steepness of the mountain. Old palaces, dark medieval towers, picturesque Gothic buildings, churches and convents are surmounted by the grandiose cathedral.
On the main square there are public buildings, belonging to the time when Todi was a free republic, arbiter of wars and alliances, such as Terni, Spoleto, and other cities ".Ferdinand Gregorovius, "Passeggiate per l'Italia"
