VISITING THE MUSEUM
The Castle of Rivoli is a point of reference for the contemporary artistic world. With its innovative exhibitions and radical artistic performances, since its foundation in 1984, the Museum has developed taking into account the uniqueness of the baroque building that houses it. Designed in 1718 by Filippo Juvarra, the Castle is a constant source of inspiration for invited artists, who produce specifically for the Permanent Collection of the Museum.
Acting both in the physical and virtual spaces of the Castle, such as its website and other digital platforms, the Museum is a vital centre for experimentation. The Museum brings this process to life by curating a coherent exhibition programme, public events and temporary exhibitions.
The Museum actively collaborates with other cultural institutions by hosting theatrical performances, concerts, film festivals, seminars and conferences.
The Collection includes works owned by the Museum, works in long-term storage purchased for the Museum by Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, works from Fondazione Rivetti and, more recently, from the Cerruti Collection. The Video Collection was purchased thanks to the support of Compagnia di San Paolo.
