VISITING ROYAL MUSEUMS
The museum project combines several sections, all of which are of great interest.
The Royal Palace, former residence of the Savoy family and since 1955 it has been handed over to the Superintendence for Architectural and Landscape Heritage as part of the Museums.
The Royal Armoury houses more than 5,000 objects ranging from Prehistory to the beginning of the twentieth century, among which one of the most important nuclei is 16th century weapons and armour.
The Galleria Sabauda, established by Carlo Alberto in 1832, with important Italian and international works.
The Museum of Antiquities, with its various sections dedicated to the Collections and the territory.
The Giardini Reali, an urban green area unique for its monumental and environmental value, which covers an area of about seven hectares.
The Royal Library, which preserves over 200,000 volumes, ancient maps, engravings and drawings, such as the famous Self-portrait by Leonardo da Vinci,
The Chiablese Halls, mainly intended for important temporary exhibitions.
The Chapel of the Holy Shroud, a masterpiece by Gaurino Guarini, reopened to the public in 2018.

Tram/Bus: Stop 472 Castello in Piazza Castello, Stop 423 Duomo - Polo Reale in Via XX Settembre, Stop 204 XI Febbraio in Corso XI Febbraio. For further information: www.gtt.to.it
Train: from Porta Nuova Station. Cross Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and continue on Via Roma to Piazza Castello. From Porta Susa Station: cross Via Cernaia and continue on Via Pietro Micca until Piazza Castello.
Car: From the motorway exit or the ring road follow the signs for the city centre. The Royal Museums are located in a central ZTL area. It is forbidden for private cars to pass through Via XX Settembre and Via Pietro Micca. In Via Po, Piazza Castello and Viale dei Partigiani it is forbidden to enter from 7.30 am to 10.30 am. Corso Regina Margherita and Corso San Maurizio are free access.
Visiting Rules

- at the entrance to the Museum, the body temperature will be measured, indicating 37.5°C as the threshold for the entrance
- inside the building, it will be essential to wear personal protective equipment
- in the visit itinerary there will be information panels and indicators for the spacing
- the rooms can be walked along a one-way itinerary at the entrance and exit, indicated by the appropriate signs and also available on the MRT app
