The museum's collection consists of pieces from various archaeological sites, such as Tindari, Selinunte, Sòlunto, Agrigento and documents the different phases of art and civilisation in Sicily from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages. Among the most significant finds are the metopes of the Temples of Selinunte and the so-called "Stone of Palermo", with hieroglyphic inscriptions, thanks to which it was possible to reconstruct the most ancient phases of Egyptian history.
