The virtual visit takes us inside the rich Domus of the early imperial age: the House of Livia, the House of Augustus and Nero’s Domus Transitoria.
When Augustus decided to build his official residence, he symbolically chose the place closest to the hut of the mythical founder Romulus, to underline his bond and memory.
Together with his beloved wife Livia he lived in this house which still preserves the extraordinary colors of the frescoes unaltered: the high definition of the enlargements allows us to appreciate the blues, reds, pinks, yellows of the figures.
Also and above all, entering the rooms, normally closed to the public such as the Hall of Masks, the Hall of Festoons by Pino and the famous Studiolo.
The visit is completed by the extraordinary visible portion of the Domus Transitoria, the residence that Nero had built before the Domus Aurea, with the scenographic fountain entirely covered with marble, the precious floors and the frescoes still partially covered by the golden coating.
